Eiluned Hogenson, M.D., M.P.H.

Ob-Gyn

Dr. Eiluned (Ellie) Hogenson was born in Fairbanks and attended medical school at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and residency at the University of Rochester, in New York. In addition to her medical degree, she has her Masters in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University.  She is a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), and serves as the Alaska section vice-chair. She has a passion for helping patients with medical management of gynecologic problems, and for supporting minimally invasive options.  She enjoys working with both low and high risk pregnancies, and seeing these to successful conclusion.  Along with specialty obstetrics and gynecology services, she is a provider for transgender medicine. 

Kim Schumacher, D.O.

Ob-Gyn

Dr. Schumacher (formerly Dr. Mudge) received her medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, and is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopy, the American Medical Association and the American Osteopathic Association.  An accomplished surgeon, she was the first robotic surgeon in Fairbanks, and the first to offer laparoscopic tubal reversal surgery in the interior.  

Jenny Lessner, M.D.

Family Medicine

Dr. Lessner is a primary care physician with specialized training in caring for families and patients of all ages.  She enjoys taking care of children and teens, preventative health for both men and women, and working with patients to stay active and healthy across the lifespan. She is a lifelong Alaskan born and raised in Fairbanks, and holds an Honors Medical Degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine and a bachelor's degree in Biology from Reed College.

Robin Holmes, M.D.

Family Medicine

Dr. Holmes is board certified in Family Medicine.  Born and raised in Chicago, she did her residency in Anchorage.  She speaks Spanish, and has interests in Women's Health, trans health and family planning, and managing pregnancies.  As a family medicine doctor, she also loves managing obstetric patients through delivery and taking care of their babies after. She is passionate about advocating for lifestyle changes as a way to prevent disease and manage chronic conditions.

Courtney Amundson

Certified Nurse Midwife

Courtney Amundson grew up in Fairbanks. She is a certified nurse midwife who obtained her degree from the Frontier School of Nursing and Midwifery. She has extensive experience as a labor nurse before becoming a midwife. She enjoys helping women with their birth experiences, and spending time with her 4 children.  

​Heidi May

Certified Nurse Midwife

Heidi May, obtained her Master's degree in midwifery from Frontier Nursing University. Prior to becoming a midwife, she had extensive experience as an RN in labor and delivery at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, and at an accredited birth center. She has had national certification in Inpatient Obstetrics since 2007, and is a strong believer in patient centered care.

Fakira Borkovec

Family Nurse Practitioner

Fakira joined Chena Health in January 2020, and is a masters degree level Nurse Practitioner, with her degree from Loyola University.  She enjoys health promotion, women's health care and disease prevention throughout the lifespan.  She enjoys spending time with her family, and cooking.  Fakira is fluent in Spanish, French and Italian. 

Jackie Collins

Family Nurse Practitioner

Jackie Collins, Family Nurse Practitioner. Ms. Collins has been a Fairbanks resident for over 30 years. She has interest in preventative medicine, family planning, and obesity.  She has had training with the North American Menopause Society (NAMS) in hormonal and nonhormonal options for menopause.
